Rapai Kateryna

Kateryna Rapai (b. 1954) is a Ukrainian artist and writer. She was born in Kazakhstan. She studied at the Kyiv State Art Institute (now the National Academy of Arts). Since 1974, she has worked as a theatre artist. She is fond of hand embroidery and revives forgotten ancient techniques. She has participated in many exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad. In 2023, a solo exhibition of K. Rapai's embroidered paintings was held at the National Museum of Ukrainian Folk Decorative Art (Kyiv). She is the author of the books "Double Exposition" (2019) and "The Yakutovych Circle" (2021).
