Franchuk Valeriy

Valeriy Franchuk (b. 1950) is a People's Artist of Ukraine (2015), works in the field of painting and graphics. He graduated from the Kyiv State Art Institute (1986). He worked in the graphic department of the Kyiv Combine of Monumental and Decorative Art. Since 1983, he has been active in exhibitions both in Ukraine and abroad. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1990). Laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine (2008) for the cycle of paintings ‘Swinging Bells of Memory’ dedicated to the victims of the Holodomor. Laureate of the Vasyl Stus Prize. His works are kept in museums of Ukraine, public organisations and cultural and artistic centres around the world.
