Podolchak Ihor

(born 1962)

Ukrainian graphic artist, media artist, screenwriter, producer and curator. Member of the Ukrainian Film Academy. Born in Lviv. Representative of the New Ukrainian Wave. Co-founder of the Mazokha Foundation creative association and co-author of all of its artistic actions and projects. One of the 10 most outstanding filmmakers of Ukraine according to Forbes Ukraine magazine (2014). He has been working in the film industry as a screenwriter, producer and director since 2006. Participant and laureate of numerous international exhibitions, organizer and curator of art projects in Ukraine and abroad.
Held more than 25 solo exhibitions in Ukraine, Italy, Great Britain, Germany, Poland, Australia, South Korea, Israel, Spain and France. His works are held in 26 museums and public collections: Bibliothèque Nationale de France, British Library, Castle Museum, Malbork, Poland, Museum Gutenberg, Mainz, Museum of Modern Art Haifa, Israel. A two-volume catalogue of the works was published in 1999. Merry-Go-Round is a short fiction film by Ukrainian director Igor Podolchak, made in 2017. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6565036
