The Great Song Book of "Chervona Kalyna" is the most complete anthology of choral arrangements of folk songs for mixed, male and female choirs, a kind of representation of the Ukrainian choral movement in Galicia, one of the most outstanding phenomena of Ukrainian note publishing in Galicia in the first half of the twentieth century. The songbook contains 229 works by 14 Ukrainian artists of the first half of the twentieth century, including: Vasyl Barvinsky, Mykola Kolesa, Mykola Lysenko, Stanislav Liudkevych and others. From the riflemen's song heritage, the Polish censorship banned the publication of R. Kupchynsky's song "Oh, and the Sich Riflemen were sad". All songs in the collection are divided into 10 sections: Riflemen songs; Historical, Cossack songs; Chumak, burlak, recruit, bachelor songs; Love songs; Household songs; Carols, carols, shchedrivky; Vesnianky, haylky, bathing songs; Obzhynky; Engagement, wedding, baptismal songs; Joking songs.
