Dondyuk Maxim

(born 1983)

World famous Ukrainian documentary photographer. Born in Polyani village, Khmelnitsky region. He works as an independent documentary photographer. Maksim has received numerous awards for his projects, including Prix Pictet Photography Prize, Lucie Awards, W. Eugene Smith Grant in Humanistic Photography, and others. Maxim's work has been shown at the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, Somerset House in London, the National Museum of the 21st Century Arts/MAXXI in Rome, the Photobiennale in Bogota, Colombia, and elsewhere in the world. In 2019 he published his first photobook, Culture of Confrontation. He collaborates with leading international publications. His photographs have appeared in Time, Der Spiegel, Libération, Paris Match, Rolling Stone, Bloomberg Businessweek, Esquire and other magazines. The photographer's work was presented at the Dukat auction (Kyiv).

In 2022, he became the winner of W. Eugene Smith Grant in Humanistic Photography with the project “Ukraine 2014/22” (Ukraine).
